Sky Stops Streak, Sun

In one fell swoop the Sky (5-8) stopped their four game losing streak and the Connecticut Sun's undefeated run on their home floor.

Epiphanny Prince led the Sky with 19 points, including four points in the Sky's decisive 11-2 run at the end of the third quarter to put the Sky ahead for good. Prince sunk four free throws in the games final minute as the Sky held on for an 86-77 win.

Prince finished what teammate Dominique Canty started. Canty poured in 12 of her 14 points in the first half.

Erin Thorn lit up the Sun with a perfect shooting night. She hoisted five shots from the field including three 3-pointers. She also took five free throws. Every single attempt went in for a total of 18 points.

Rookie Tina Charles led the Sun (8-4) with 14 points and nine rebounds. While Sylvia Fowles added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Sky.

The Sky had five players reach double figures. The last was Jia Perkins who scored 11 points.

The Sky shot 47 percent from the field and 75 percent (6-8) from 3-point range.

The win was the back end of a pair of road games for the Sky. The Sky now head home for a pair of weekend home games at Allstate Arena including Ladies Night at the Chicago Sky on Friday night when the Sky takes on the Washington Mystics at 7:30pm and Dads and Daughters Night on Sunday when the Sky takes on the Indiana Fever at 5pm.
